Hall, Chris Ledoux, Ray Price, Bobby Bare, Waylon Jennings, Wilma Burgess, Norma Jean, Jimmy C. Newman, Joe Diffie, Dottsie, Dawn Anita and Earl Richards to name a few. “Ready Mixed Revenge” the song that brought him to Nashville has been recorded at least 15 times including a top 5 chart record in Australia by Johnny Chester . “Different Kind of Flower”, a hit single for Ray Price in the early eighties, has become a standard with club bands in Texas and is still getting recorded today. “Soldier of Fortune” was not only a hit single by Tom T. Hall, it was also the title song of one of his albums. Quite an endorsement coming from a songwriter of his stature. Gary and his family have been living in the Delina Boones Hill, Tennessee area for the past 15 years. He dusted off his guitar and writing pen long enough to write and record a CD about wild turkeys and turkey hunters called the “Magnificent Bird” that got rave reviews throughout the hunting industry and he performs at several festivals and banquets every year. He is still doing some song writing when he has time. He says he doesn’t think he’s “written his best song yet”!
